CBRE NI enhances sustainability credentials with investment in University of Cambridge course

CBRE NI has further enhanced its sustainability credentials by supporting staff participation in an acclaimed Sustainable Real Estate course led by the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL).

Brendan Dorrian, Associate Director at CBRE NI, has become the first member of the CBRE NI team to complete the ‘Sustainable Real Estate: Creating a Better Built Environment’ course.

Designed for real estate developers, entrepreneurs, city planners, architects, engineers, and commercial property professionals, the programme is aimed at equipping participants with the knowledge and insights needed to not only understand the sustainability challenges facing the real estate sector, but the resilient measures that need to be implemented for a better future.

Through the CISL programme, Brendan has gained significant education into how sustainability is reshaping the development of buildings and cities, the tools and frameworks necessary to respond to sustainability challenges, and strategies that can be harnessed to enhance overall company success, influence and value.

Brendan said:

“It is a proud moment for me to complete this intense but enriching programme which has provided me with an invaluable insight into the principles and practices of sustainable real estate development and management.

“I now have a deeper understanding of how to integrate sustainability into real estate projects, ensuring they are environmentally responsible, socially beneficial and economically viable, therefore enhancing the service and advice I can provide to clients.”

This latest investment by CBRE NI is part of the firm’s ongoing commitment to sustainability.

CBRE NI has been proactive in delivering a series of workshops to key industry stakeholders, highlighting the intrinsic link between sustainability, valuation, and capital expenditure in the commercial property market, as well as in expanding its Valuations and Professional Services team, now the largest in Northern Ireland, to meet the growing demand for sustainability advice.

Gerard McCann, Executive Director at CBRE NI, commented:

“This investment in staff development is testament to our commitment to staying ahead of the curve in the evolving real estate industry. By upskilling our team in crucial areas such as sustainability, we ensure CBRE NI remains the leading firm for best-in-class commercial property guidance.

“We congratulate Brendan on successfully completing the course, with his dedication exemplifying our team’s drive for excellence.”
